Data from this project provides evidence that Group A Beta Hemolytic Streptococcus is one of the etiological agent responsible for the cutaneous eruption Known as PLEVA, suggesting a need for further investigation of bacterial organisms as the cause of Pityriasis Lichenoides et Varioliformis Acuta. 


1994 Project:  BioslifeII, a New Player in the War against Hypercholesterolemia:

Two Case Reports

These case studies provide evidence that a certain combination of natural fibers found in the product BioslifeII can produce remarkable cholesterol reductions in brief periods of time in responsive patients.


 1995 Project:  Alagille’s Syndrome, a Mistaken Case of Child Abuse:

A Case Report

Data from this project demonstrates that clinical features of a rare, but well-described syndromic disease can be misdiagnosed as child abuse by poorly informed examiners.


1982 Project:  Interventions in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Thesis Project

This project suggested improved outcomes for premature and low-birth weight neonates provided stimulation in the neonatal intensive care unit by use of music, lighting, touch therapy and increased exposure to family.  Preliminary work showed a decreased tendency toward irritability and improved feeding in neonates provided such interventions, along with a decreased number of incidences of low body temperature and a decreased number of apnea monitor alarms recorded.


 1980-1982 Project:  Obstetrical Access Program, California State Department of

Maternal and Child Health

This project statistically demonstrated an improved outcome for neonates born to Low income minority mothers as a result of access to regular obstetrical care via statistics showing a decrease in the number of low birth weight neonates and improved Brazelton and Bailey Developmental test scores for the neonates born in the low birth weight category.
